Nabdam District Assembly confirmed DCE


The Upper East Regional Minister Rockson Ayine Bukari called on the people of Nabdam, to bury their political differences and remain united.

This he said, will enable them to harness the vast resources of Tongo under the current administration to speed up the development of the area.

 The Minister added he will operate an open door administration and make sure that all municipal and District Chief Executives work closely with their Assembly members and the people the at large.

 Mr Bukari lamented that the people of the Upper East cannot continue to live in abject poverty in the mist of abundant resources.

However for him to achieve his dream of facilitating development in the region, all MMDCEs nominated by the President must be confirmed.

Mr. Bukari made the called during a special meeting organized to confirm the President nominee Mrs Agnes Anamoo for the position of the Nabdam District Chief Executive.

Mrs. Agnes Anamoo confirmation was very successful as she pulled 13 votes out of the total 19 valid votes cast, representing 67%  of the two thirds majority required by the EC. 6 voted not in her favor with no rejected ballot.

Mrs. Anamoo was subsequently swon into office by the Regional Minister Rockson Bukari. The Regional Minister thanked the honorable members for endorsing the President nominee, Mrs. Anamoo, for the position of the District Chief Executive to expedite development in the Nabdam area.

Mrs. Anamoo in her acceptance speech, was full of joy and thanked the assembly members and the people of the area for the confidence reposed in her.
She promised that her doors are open for all for concerted effort to move the district forward.
