The nominee, Joseph Amiyure Atura received an overwhelming endorsement from members of the house having polled 49 out of 53 valid votes cast, representing 92 percent.
Only four members voted against his candidature with no spoilt ballot.
The election supervised by officials of the Electoral Commission, saw Atura being sworn into office by the Regional Minister, Rockson Bukari.
He was administered through the oath of office and the oath of secrecy.
In a brief remark, Mr Bukari expressed appreciation to President Nana Addo and the party for the confidence reposed in the nominee.
Earlier, the Regional Minister assured the good people of Bolgatanga that, he will work closely and monitor the MCE to ensure that sense unity, development and sense of purpose is brought to the area.
Though the assembly failed twice in its attempts to elect a presiding member to preside over the meeting, it however did not affect the confirmation process.
In his acceptance, the newly elected MCE thanked the President, the assembly, and the party in general for the honor done him.
He promised to operate an open administration so that every constructive developmental agenda is brought to bear in the Bolgatanga Municipality.
